Wedding Preparation 1

We are still very much alive, just lazy to blog. Actually, I had compiled photos of our Valentine’s celebration but just too lazy to write bout it. (Yes, and you must be wondering why I can do this instead of that). Never mind. Rubbish aside.

Well, wedding prep has been going rather well I would say. Of course, there were arguments in between, mostly myself with MYSELF (fickle-minded like s***), me against my parents and of course, how can I left out the groom-to-be right?

1. Save The Date Card
We made this as our save the date card and it was well received. Many compliments on how sweet and cute it looked. It wasn’t pain in the ass. The process of making it was indeed fun and once you get the hang of it, it was rather fast. (We made the envelope ourselves too). DIY instruction here.

2. Wedding Dinner Venue
I must admit that having a wedding in DRAGON year (in lunar calendar) is competitive. Most of the hotels and restaurants fully booked (except the 7th month/ghost month). We are lucky (or maybe you can called us “scared of losing”), we made booking WAY ahead and placed deposits last year 2011.

This wedding dinner is actually from bride’s side. In Chinese tradition, groom and bride can held the dinner together or separately. At first, we didn’t want to have any dinner, maybe just small dinner among few family members but my dad more or less insisted on it. Well, he is actually paying everything for the dinner. We can’t complain then. Thank you very much daddy for you generosity and kindness. Love you!

Ok. Dinner venue secured! Next please~

3. Bridal House
After got engaged for not long and some calculation, we decided it is cheaper to purchase the gown and tuxedo is cheaper rather than engaging a bridal house. Current market rate for pre-wedding package is quite scary, it could be from RM2000 till RM100,000 (you can put as many digit as you like).

HOWEVER, see there is an exception for situation like this, we went to bridal fair in Midvalley last year and managed to grab an awesome deal I would say. I’m not sure it’s ok to reveal the price but here are the details of the package we took:

15 x 24 Album (25 + 5WN poses)
12 x 16 Album (20 poses)
24 x 36 Big Picture with any frame we like
8R Table top – 2 pcs
10 x 14 Table top – 2pcs (additional free items)
Car decor
Bridal Bouquet
Car sticker and ribbon ball (6-8pcs)
4R Friends copy – 80 pcs
Together with DVD soft copy and montage
Bride (1 outdoor gown, 3 indoor gowns)
Groom ( 2 sets of tuxedo)

Everything for a total of : RM2012 (perfect for head start of year 2012.. :P)

4. Photographer and Videographer
Photographer done. We loved his work and his rate very much too. Will revealed that after our wedding. As for videographer, we are still searching high and low that suits our budget.

5. Garden Wedding Venue
Yes, we will be having our second wedding celebration, to be exact, our ACTUAL wedding date together with Registration of Marriage (ROM) . It is weird that wedding dinner come one week before the actual day but it’s ok, I will explain it in near future. It is going to be held at my home garden (save on the rental, yeah!). How blissful~

For us, intimate wedding ceremony has been our priority since day 1. We did not want have a big fat wedding. Firstly, we do not wish to shake hand with the guess and not knowing who the hell is him or her. Secondly, we want them to come to our wedding to be part of our joyous celebration rather than HAVE TO. This happened a lot in Malaysia. When we invite, complain ( We not that close la, invite for what la, waste money la). Didn’t invite also complain. We rather not invite right? WTH!

Something similar to this…I hope. Photo courtesy of Stories

All the planning for this stage is yet to be confirmed; from choosing caterer, canopy services, ceremony officer and etc.

6. Wedding Cake
My adorable sister will be sponsoring our wedding cake. So generous and sweet of her. I can’t be more grateful than this. Thank you so much Swan B for the cake. the details and theme yet to be discuss with her boss. Yes, she is working in this line. *cheeky smile*

This cake is made by her boss, SU. Sounds familiar? Its actual Delectable. So lovely. Every bride’s dream. Of course I’m not so greedy. 2- 3 tiers will do. Lolz.

7. Hair and Make-up
Checked! Can’t wait for the trial make up. I love her “works”.
Btw, she is Patricia Lok (The make up artist, not the bride in the pic below).

8. Wedding Invitation
Hmm…yet to finalize. Since, it is still quite early to decide. Our wedding is in DECEMBER 2012. Hahaha!

Basically, there is nothing much to execute yet cause the time frame to actual date is still a long way to go. Now we focus more on our “love nest” mini-renovations and price surveying. Will try my very best to update this blog as frequent as possible!

Sweet dreams~
