Krabi: Aree Tara Resort, Aonang (Accommodation)

Most of my family members and friends do think I’m crazy as I always book holiday WAY ahead. This Krabi trip was booked a year ago during Air Asia sales (including luggage upgrade for two ways) was RM200 for two person. What a bargain huh? I think the ride to airport can easily cost more than the air tickets. Lol!

My dear dear suggested this hotel to me and based on Tripadvisor reviews (click here), it was actually a very good deal. I was skeptical at first.

Deluxe room: 1590 Baht per night including breakfast
Booking fees: 125 Baht (cause we booked via Latestay.com)
Total damage for 2 nights: 3305 Baht (RM330.50)

1
Pre-booked airport transfer: 750 Baht one way. So not worth it. It is much cheaper to book with hotel (500 baht) one way or take shuttle bus (150 baht per person-one way)

Phi Phi Island package

He was trying very hard to sell us Phi Phi Island package. After bargaining- 1500baht per pax and that if only we take up transport offer to Krabi town with a price of 1200baht. Of course my dear dear declined. Aree Tara Resort offered us 1000 baht per person (Thank God we didn't engage with Mr. Leech)

We do not have any regrets for choosing Aree Tara as our hotel. Actually along the way to Aree Tara, there were many well known hotels such as The Small Krabi (5 minutes walking distance to Aonang beach) and next to The Small is actually Red Ginger Chic hotel. Both of the hotels situated at the junction.

As the road went deeper, you can see Ananta Burin, Tara hotel, Apasari and many many more. Aree Tara was almost towards the end. We did not mind to walk longer as long as we pay lesser. If you hate walking, the is always tuk-tuk service available with a fee of 20 baht per person around Aonang area.

The next post would be eateries and shops along Aonang street.
